We arrived around noon at the beautiful spot of Gisborne, stayed at the Beachcomber Motor Lodge, run by a fellow who was really impressed with Canada so, gave us a really nice room. We had a bedroom with a queen size bed, very comfortable as well as a living room with couch, TV, coffee table, the kitchen had a table, chairs, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, sink. The bathroom had a lovely shower, two doors, so it was like an ensuite. We felt we were in the lap of luxury.
Dalton went golfing at the Poverty Bay Golf Course and he was lucky enough to find a couple of fellows to play with. He was really happy to have someone to play with as he has been having to play by himself most of the time.
The picture below is the beach across the road from our hotel.
