March 7 & 8

Today we decided to stay around Gawler and look around.  We wandered the town, looked at the sights.  There are a lot of old buildings.  Most of the buildings are brick, the driveways are brick and a lot of the intersections are brick.  The make everything look so much cozier, for lack of a better word.

We left Gawler and our first stop was the Whispering Wall.  This is a place where the design of it makes it so you can stand at one end of the bridge speaking in a quiet to normal voice, and you can be heard at the other end.  We carried on quite a conversation with a fellow from the area who was touring a group of students around.

Our next stop was Jacob Creek Winery, we had a wine tasting and had lunch in their dining room.  It is really a beautiful place.  The wine was good and the food was excellent.

This is a view looking down on the Barossa Valley.  Too bad it was so dull.

They have the rows so nicely labelled as to which type of grapes for which type of wine.

We stayed in a Town called Nurioopa at the Barossa Valley Tourist Park.  The neighbours were a nice couple from Perth on their way to Tassie.  We also met a couple from Kelowna of all places.  He is an ex RCMP and they were doing our trip, only backwards.  They got all the rain we are hoping to miss
